MyLocalCause.com LLC is dedicated to helping individuals raise funds and awareness for their favorite non-profits, schools and local causes.

 High school and college students are encouraged to use their creativity and energy to make a difference for causes and schools that they personally care about.

 MyLocalCause.com LLC was founded by Dr. Kevin Gormley in February 2008. It is based in McLean, Virginia near Washington, D.C.

 After volunteering at various DC area non-profits and organizing a fundraiser for the Grameen Foundation, a leading microfinance non-profit, Kevin decided that there must be a better way to help raise money for great non-profits.

 In January 2008, Kevin had the great opportunity to attend a book signing where he briefly met Muhammed Yunus, who founded the Grameen Bank and shared the Nobel Peace Prize with his organization. Dr. Yunus spoke about social business and the need for innovative solutions to fight global poverty.

 In February 2008, MyLocalCause.com LLC was formed. In March 2008, Kevin attended the Social Business Conference in Denver where he learned from social business and microfinance leaders.

 While Dr. Yunus is a pioneer and proponent of social business, MyLocalCause.com LLC is not officially endorsed or approved by Dr. Yunus or the Grameen Bank.
